Award Winning Music Programs

K-5 Music

Music is an integrated feature within our programs all across district schools.   At the K-2 level music is often used for movement and as a learning tool for content.  Many of our sites also have primary music instructors at the K-2 level utilizing Orff instruments and focusing on rhythm and music expression.

All K-5 elementary sites receive instruction from highly qualified music teachers starting in third grade.  4th/5th Grade Strings, 4th/5th Grade Band, 3rd to 5th Grade Choir, & 3rd Grade Recorders are the beginnings for our students.  They learn and practice for performances throughout the year and have various opportunities to perform with older students from middle school programs.
